On Thursday, I competed in a dual meet versus Wilson High School and our school won!
1600 - 5:53
3200 - 12:41
No PR’s here, but not too bad for running on a dirt track with strong head wind! I was also the third place girl in the 3200. :)
This morning, I raced at the Irvine Distance Carnival
400 - 1:06 Well, I’ve never done a 400 before, and my first one went pretty well, I think?
1600 - 5:46 I PR’d! Only by a second, but a PR is a PR and especially in the 90 degree heat!
Thursday, 3200 - 12:48
Not my best, but not bad for getting 0 hours of sleep the night before and running on a dirt track!
Friday, 800 - 2:35
PR! :))))
Okay so, I have two meets this week. I’m running the 3200 on Thursday at a dual meet against Lakewood High School, and the 800 at Trabuco.
I’m planning to run faster than 12:34 for my 3200. For the 800 however.. I initially just wanted to run faster than 2:44, but my coach is expecting me to run in the 2:30s, which puts a lot more pressure on me. :| Let’s see how it goes!
TRACK MEET UPDATE
I ran the 1600 at the Azusa track meet this afternoon. I only PR’d by 2 seconds, but a PR is a PR, right? I finished with a 5:47, and I am a proud Poly High School representative. :)
I rewarded myself with some Chipotle afterward hehe.
I ran at the Redondo track meet last Saturday and though I’m happy with my time, I’m not so happy with the way I raced. You see, I ate a rather large meal right before warming up, which led to a horrible stomach ache in the middle of my race. Hahaha. I still ended up pulling a 12:34 in my 2 mile, which is a pretty good improvement from my 12:58 a few weeks back!
I have 2 meets this week. I’m not sure which event I’m running on Thursday, but I’m running my 4th mile this Saturday!
Here are my times thus far (in chronological order):
6:07
5:49
6:03 (After a week off from running + giant painful wart on my toe)
Hopefully I’ll be back at sub-6 minutes this Saturday so I can get that PR!
